The National Agricultural Export Development Board (NAEB) has revealed that Rwanda generated US$5,970,950 (approximately Rwf6 billion) from agricultural exports last week.
Exported products include fruits and vegetables, flowers, coffee and tea among others.
Figures from NAEB show that the country exported 299.56 tons of coffee worth US$2,000,650. The price of Rwanda’s coffee at the international market was fixed at US$6.6 per kilogram.
Meanwhile, Rwanda earned US$997,326 from 371.23 tons of exported tea. Major destinations of Rwanda’s tea last week include Pakistan, Egypt and the United Kingdom.

The country also exported 219.45 tons of flowers worth US$443,402. Countries of destination include Germany, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
Other agricultural export products include cereals, grains and flour, roots and tubers and pulses among others.
Figures from NAEB also indicate that Rwanda generated US$173,156 from animal products including meat and eggs.
